Planning consent has been granted for a new 70-bed purpose-built care home at the former RAF Upwood site in Cambridgeshire. The care home forms part of the wider regeneration of the former airfield, which is being transformed into a new residential community of approximately 450 homes.
The three-storey care home has been designed to provide private and specialist dementia care and will form an important part of the emerging community. The project demonstrates Barcroft’s ability to integrate specialist care provision within major residential developments, providing dedicated accommodation for older people alongside the new homes and community infrastructure being delivered as part of the wider regeneration.
