Barcroft Estates has submitted a planning application to Huntingdonshire District Council for a new 70-bed purpose-built care home at the former RAF Upwood site in Cambridgeshire. The care home forms part of the wider planned residential development, which will deliver approximately 450 new homes alongside supporting community infrastructure.
The three-storey care home is intended to provide private and specialist dementia care, creating dedicated accommodation for older people within the emerging community. The application represents an important step in bringing forward specialist care provision as part of the wider regeneration of the former RAF site. Barcroft would like to thank Hays Associates for their work in preparing the design and Adrian Kearley at QED for their planning guidance and support.
