Barcroft Estates, through the Mercroft joint venture with Mercian Developments, has progressed proposals for the redevelopment of the former Ridgewood Manor care home site in Uckfield. The site has remained derelict since the former care home closed in 2012 and was subsequently destroyed by fire in 2017.
The proposed 70+ bed care home represents an opportunity to bring this long-standing brownfield site back into productive use. The bespoke design responds closely to the site’s challenging topography, minimising visual impact while delivering a viable, high-quality care facility for Connaught Care.
