Barcroft Estates, through its Mercroft joint venture with Mercian Developments, has exchanged contracts with the Sherford Consortium to secure the opportunity for a new purpose-built care home within the major Sherford new town development east of Plymouth. Outline planning consent has been granted for a 72-bed care home on approximately 1.13 acres, with the site occupying a sustainable position close to the proposed local centre and primary school.
The project presents an opportunity to integrate high-quality care accommodation within a new community of approximately 5,500 homes. A reserved matters planning application will now be prepared for submission. The scheme will ultimately be delivered through Mercroft for Cinnamon Care Collection.
