Barcroft Estates, working through the Mercroft joint venture with Mercian Developments, has exchanged contracts to secure the former factory shop at Universal House, Market Drayton. The approximately 1.28-acre site represents an opportunity to regenerate a previously developed and underutilised commercial site within the established town.
The proposed development provides for a 72-bed purpose-built care home. The site’s location immediately south of the Aldi supermarket, together with its proximity to the wider amenities of Market Drayton, provides a sustainable setting for the new care facility and an opportunity to bring a redundant brownfield site back into productive use.
