Barcroft Estates, through the Mercroft joint venture with Mercian Developments, has secured outline planning consent for a new care home at the former factory shop at Universal House, Market Drayton. The approximately 1.28-acre brownfield site, located immediately south of the Aldi supermarket, provides an opportunity to regenerate a redundant commercial site within an established and sustainable location.
The consent provides for a purpose-built 72-bedroom care home. The project demonstrates the potential to transform an underutilised site into high-quality specialist accommodation, benefiting from its proximity to local amenities and the wider facilities of Market Drayton.
