Barcroft Estates, through the Mercroft joint venture with Mercian Developments, has completed the sale of the Market Drayton site to Lovett Care. The completion marks the successful conclusion of Barcroft’s involvement in the regeneration of the former factory shop at Universal House, following the grant of planning consent for a new 72-bed purpose-built care home.
The project provided an opportunity to transform an underutilised brownfield site in a sustainable location immediately south of the Aldi supermarket and close to the wider amenities of Market Drayton. The consented scheme will provide high-quality specialist care accommodation while bringing a redundant commercial site back into productive use, with Lovett Care now taking the project forward.
